Renewing Forklift Licence

Renewing forklift licence you will receive a renewal notice 4–6 weeks before the expiry date listed on your HRW licence. The expiry date is printed on the bottom right corner of your licence card.

You should update your contact details if you have changed your postal address since your HRW licence was issued. You can do this by:

  • using High Risk Work Licence Online Services
  • contacting us on 1300 362 128.
    If your licence is due to expire and you have not received a renewal notice, or your notice has incorrect details, contact us via the above number.

Forklift Licence Renewal Process

Visit High Risk Work Licence Online Services to renew your HRW licence.

Note: Australia Post outlets do not process applications to renew HRW licences.

You will need the following details when you lodge your HRW licence renewal:

  • HRW licence number and personal information as printed on the licence you want to renew
  • renewal notice number located on the top left hand corner of your renewal notice
  • QGOV/Google/Microsoft account, if you do not have one of these accounts you can register for a QGov account during the application process

customer reference number (CRN) from one of the following Queensland Transport and Main Roads (TMR) issued licence cards:

  • Queensland issued drivers licence
  • proof of age card
  • marine licence indicator card
  • industry authority card or
  • a HRW product number provided by TMR for a previous HRW application

If you do not have a relevant TMR CRN you can still lodge your application. Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) will contact you to provide information about how to obtain a TMR CRN.

  • credit or debit visa card to pay the relevant fee.

Note: Digital photographs and signatures held by TMR (that meet a certain criteria) are used for the purposes of printing a HRW licence. You may be required to visit a TMR counter to create a TMR account or provide a new photograph and signature.

You will also make a declaration to confirm you have maintained your competency for the class of HRW.

Note: This is a legal declaration. WHSQ is unable to renew licences if you have not maintained your competency.

Note: The Queensland Government has introduced a client identity management system (CIDM) called QGov. All online services must be accessed using a QGov account.

In order to use the High Risk Work Licence Online Services, you will need to create a QGov account directly through QGov or by using a Google (Gmail) or Microsoft account.

You will be prompted to log into or create an account as part of the application process.

Renewing Forklift Licence Fees

You will need to pay the $ 102.62 licence fee once the renewal process is complete. You can do this via credit card or BPay. If we do not receive your full payment within 7 days of lodgement, your application will be withdrawn and you will have to submit a new application.

Licence status during application process

Your licences will remain current during the application process if a renewal application is made prior to or on the expiry date. You should keep your HRW licence renewal confirmation and receipt as proof of your renewal application.

If you apply for renewal after the expiry date, you will not be licensed until your application is approved.

Interstate residents renewing a Queensland HRW licence

Interstate rIf you are a Queensland HRW licence holder who lives interstate you can renew your licence in Queensland OR your new state or territory. If you want to renew your HRW licence in Queensland you can make application using the High Risk Work Licence Online Services

Cancelled occupational licences

High risk work licences are valid for five years unless suspended or cancelled.
